Make the DBMS a choice between MariaDB and MySQL

I already asked this to the support yesterday and they are checking on it, but maybe someone else is interested into it.

MariaDB nowadays is not anymore a drop-in replacement of MySQL due to some important differences (which lead to even performance issues in some cases) so some CMS dev teams are suggesting to use one instead of another (for example, Pixel&Tonic with Craft CMS).

For this reason I would like to switch between DBMS (or at least choose during the VPS buying funnel).
